Apologies for missing last weeks report but YT was struck by a nasty little bug, so we will start by catching up on the last M & D.T. T A 10 series, another club strong showing, and with Mr. Briand forming an advanced engagement party contingent, our fifth man was Stuart Cope in his first outing of the year, obviously waiting for the wind to die down. Stuart was also our first man off opening with a creditable 26-51. The remainders were all combatants from the previous weeks gale, last weeks fastest rider Mark Poyser next into the fray, knocking 27 seconds off his time at 23-57. Biggest gain of the day however was Phil Gayes venturing out on his recently built Colnago, and turning out a time of over a minute quicker at 26-13, despite being one of the many held up in traffic at Chelford island. Next was YT and I joined Phil as one of the victims to traffic, a drawback of the fine weather but preferable to the cold, damp alternative still 23-55 will do just fine thanks. Last man for Leek was Simeon Yates and if the gods were a bit off for me and Phil they seemed to have it in for Simeon from the start after a puncture before getting his bike out of the of the car, meant a scramble to get ready for the race, only to suffer a second puncture during the race itself! Simeon still managed a time of 31-05

Last weeks action was limited to the Crewe Clarion Hilly, however it did mark the first race ever of the clubs newest recruit and youngest rider Adam Kenway. Adam joined more seasoned rider but one equally at home on the, more lumpy courses Marc Briand. The pair had a successful morning riding the 17-mile course that wound its way around Stapely, Audlem, and Woore. Marc’s experience giving him the advantage over the new guy with a time of 43-21 to Adams 44-19, however Adams impressive first ride secured him best junior, and from his activities on the club runs I am sure it will be the first of many awards. Paul Dotchin won the race in 38-07.

No room for a run report but quick congratulations to member Pat Kinch on his engagement to Jacqui Hughes thanks for a great party and well worth the travel oop North cheers.
