Before we get to the AGM we have to announce that this years prize presentation evening as had to be postponed till early next year. Sorry for any inconvenience but it does allow us to finalise details which is a good cue to remind those who have not yet returned last years awards to do so ASAP either to myself Marc or Graham.

Back to the AGM and under the chairing of Dave Bridden the meeting progressed well with the following motions passed. Firstly under the topics of officials it was decided to make the office of President an Honoree one being offered to club benefactors on a 12monthly period, With the remaining roles staying as elected although the title of Vice president has been replaced by Vice Chairman. Brought up for discussion was the possibility of affiliating the club with the TLI and Audax UK and although most agreed it was a good idea those who may have been able to say what benefit it would be to those taken part in the events weren’t in attendance so it was decided to look into it for a further meeting, it was also decided that club membership would from 2004 run from October to October to bring it inline with the CTC which most members use for their 3rd party insurance. A timely reminder that one of the few club rules is that all members have insurance so if you use the CTC you are now overdue renewal!

After the official stuff the rest of the evening rotated around club activities with the following decisions . Due to an increasing number of informal runs on Saturdays and Sundays it was decided to have one formal monthly ride such as the Muffin runs, Pat Kinches Hell of the Moorlands etc. These rides are intended to run throughout the year with the aim of having some longer distance rides during the summer. Remaining rides will be informal with destinations being decided on the morning to suit conditions and abilities of those present.

Low attendance of club nights with impromptu meetings often having a better turn out decided that club nights are also to be held less frequently with a regular quarterly meeting plus others for specific events such as the club five these will have agendas, however as posted flyers seem unsuccessful at gaining response the agendas will be made available hopefully in Leek Cycle Centre and Den Engels.

Most members had a successful racing season, and its hoped to build on this next year, in order to make the most of this its proposed that one local open event per month will be selected for a concerted club presence, who knows we may even reap a few team prizes. As we are to use M&DTTA events, where association members have priority they will also be ideal for beginners it always helping if there are some friendly faces at your first events, and yes I can remember that far back.
